Taxis from London Heathrow Airport

If you are travelling to London Heathrow Airport, you are probably wondering how to get from the airport itself to London city centre or other destination. This is often a problem for both tourists and businessman arriving to Gatwick Airport in London. A common question is: shall I go by train, coach or maybe hire a car? Some of us are lucky to have the possibility of using hotel transfer from London Heathrow Airport directly to their hotel.
If you are not that lucky it’s better to analyse all the pros and cons of the travel options. You will be surprised to discover that taking a taxi can work out cheaper than using public transport! All you need are three people going your way and the taxi cost per person will be lower than paying for three coach tickets.
Needless to say, taxi is much more comfortable, faster and more reliable. What you should remember is that the official Heathrow Taxis are the most expensive among several providers operating there. If you are looking for a cheap but still fast and comfortable option, you should book a minicab in advance.
One of the options can be the reliable service provided by Airport Link- you can book a cheap taxi from Heathrow with them. Another good company provides Taxi Transfers From Heathrow To Gatwick. The driver will know your flight number and in case of flight delay he will be waiting for you. The waiting time is free of charge. You can also fix the pick up time at any time of your choice, for example two hours after the landing. The fares for minicabs vary with different providers, but still they are much cheaper than official London Heathrow Airport taxis. Especially if you are not travelling alone. Also, a cab will take you anywhere at anytime. It is the only solution that you can choose any time and any date.

Yes it can be pain to get from Heathrow down to Gatwick. Going via Central London took me over 2 hours (well we had quite some luggage with us
). Taxi driver outside the reminal quoted me for 135 pounds !!!. Next time I will make a reservation with one of the alternative car service companies.

Wow, a £135 is a lot! Although you won’t find a cab service providing a journey into london for less than £85 (if anyone does let me know!) Whenever I travel alone I take the most minimum taxi journey to a train station, but in a group it’s more feesible as you can split the cost. I hear limousines are about the same price!
